A door closed and the piano stopped.
“Is this acceptable?”
“Well, will this do?”
I came out of my reverie. I’d been looking out the window I was seated next to. The town itself was pretty, when strolling through it. But overlooking the whole thing, it wasn’t much to look at. Beyond it however, there were mountains. Behind them, the sky started. Lighter blue between the peeks, almost white. Seamlessly and flawlessly the blue darkened as your eye travelled higher. The sky looked flat from the horizon until just the middle. When the clouds started however, the sky appeared to curve back towards me, over me. There were no windows on the other side of the building, so for all I know the sky stopped just above the establishment, hidden from my sight.
